We're Co-Hosting a Hackathon with MetaMask — Here's What You Need to Know

$11,000 in prizes. Four technical tracks. One goal: ship the most capable Web3 agents ever built.

MetaMask Smart Accounts Kit x 1Shot API Dev Cook Off — $11,000 prize pool, co-hosted by 1Shot API with MetaMask and Venice AI

We're thrilled to announce that 1Shot API is co-hosting the MetaMask Smart Accounts Kit x 1Shot API Dev Cook Off alongside MetaMask and Venice AI. If you're building autonomous agents, intelligent wallets, or permission-driven dApps, this hackathon was made for you.

Submissions close June 15, 2026. Prize announcements go out June 22, 2026.

Why This Hackathon Matters

Two things are converging right now in Web3:

  1. Smart accounts are finally composable. ERC-7710 and ERC-7715 make it possible for agents to hold and delegate granular permissions — meaning users can authorize autonomous behavior without handing over full wallet control.
  2. Gas abstraction is no longer a pain. 1Shot's Permissionless Relayer lets you execute EIP-7710 transactions and pay gas in stablecoins (USDC, USDT, USDG, MUSD) with zero signup, zero tier management, and zero pre-funded paymaster infrastructure.

Put those two things together and you have the building blocks for a new generation of agentic Web3 applications. That's exactly what this hackathon is designed to surface.

The Four Tracks

Best x402 + ERC-7710 — $3,000 total ($1,500 / $1,000 / $500)

Build a project that uses ERC-7710 to power subscription and streaming payments via x402. The x402 protocol enables machine-readable payment flows — pairing it with ERC-7710 smart accounts means you can build agents that pay per request, subscribe autonomously, or stream micropayments without any manual wallet interaction.

What judges are looking for: A working integration where ERC-7710 permissions drive real x402 payment calls. If you're using 1Shot API, your demo should show it in action.

Best Agent — $3,000 total ($1,500 / $1,000 / $500)

Build the ultimate autonomous agent using MetaMask Smart Accounts or Advanced Permissions (ERC-7715). There's intentional latitude here — judges want to see creative, well-executed ideas, not just technically correct implementations.

What judges are looking for: An agent where ERC-7710/7715 permissions are central to the user experience — not bolted on. The MetaMask Smart Accounts Kit integration must be visible in the demo's main flow.

Best A2A Coordination — $3,000 total ($1,500 / $1,000 / $500)

This is the most technically ambitious track. Build a system where agents coordinate with each other via redelegation — ERC-7710's permission-hopping mechanism that lets one agent pass scoped permissions to another.

This is the track for anyone thinking seriously about multi-agent architectures. A user delegates to Agent A; Agent A redelegates a narrower permission to Agent B; Agent B executes. No intermediate approval prompts. No full key exposure. Just composable, auditable delegation chains.

What judges are looking for: Demonstrated redelegation in the demo. The more meaningfully the A2A coordination maps to a real use case, the better.

Best Use of 1Shot Permissionless Relayer — $1,000 total ($500 x2)

Two prizes, open to all tracks. Use 1Shot's permissionless relayer to:

  • Execute EIP-7710 transactions with gas paid in stablecoins
  • Use EIP-7702 authorizations to upgrade EOAs to smart accounts through the relayer

Projects that use relayer webhooks for transaction status updates (rather than polling) will score higher. The relayer is designed to pair naturally with every other track — there's no reason not to include it.

Best Use of Venice AI

Venice AI is joining this hackathon as a co-host, and for good reason — privacy-preserving AI is a natural fit for autonomous agent applications where users shouldn't have to choose between capability and surveillance.

Venice is a privacy-first AI platform with 200+ frontier and open-source models across text, image, video, code, and audio, used by over 3 million people. It supports models from OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, and Google alongside Venice's own uncensored and fully-private open-source models — all without the data collection. Venice is accessible through its app, an OpenAI-compatible API, or permissionlessly via staking.

For hackathon builders, Venice's OpenAI-compatible API means you can drop it into any existing agent stack with minimal friction. If your agent needs to reason, generate, or decide — and you want to do that without your users' data being logged or used for training — Venice is the layer to reach for.

Technical Requirements at a Glance

All submissions must use either MetaMask Smart Accounts or Advanced Permissions (ERC-7715) via the MetaMask Smart Accounts Kit. The Kit is signer-agnostic — you can use MetaMask extension, MetaMask Embedded Wallets, Dynamic, Privy, or any compatible wallet provider.

Your demo video must show a working MetaMask Smart Accounts Kit integration in the main flow of the app. Judges will not award track prizes for integrations that are peripheral or cosmetic.

If you use 1Shot API, your demo must show it being used.

Why Use 1Shot in Your Submission?

The 1Shot Permissionless Relayer is the fastest path to gas abstraction for EIP-7710 smart accounts:

  • No signup. No business account. No API key tiers.
  • No paymaster infrastructure. You don't pre-fund anything. 1Shot handles operational capacity.
  • JSON-RPC native. Integrate directly. Ship immediately.
  • Stablecoin gas payments. USDC, USDT, USDG, MUSD — pick what works for your users.
  • Enterprise-scale. When traffic spikes, you don't upgrade a plan. It just works.

We've also published a public relayer skill for agentic coding environments (Cursor, Copilot, Claude, etc.) so you can get the relayer wired up in minutes and spend the rest of your time on product.
